The basics

What is structured analysis?

Analysis frameworks give messy information a shape: a SWOT separates internal strengths and weaknesses from external opportunities and threats; a competitor matrix compares rivals on the same criteria; a research plan defines what you need to learn before you start.

On a board, every finding is a note you can move, group and colour — so the analysis evolves as you learn.

Common questions

What is a SWOT analysis?

A 2×2 of Strengths and Weaknesses (inside your organisation) and Opportunities and Threats (outside it), used to inform strategy.

How many competitors should I compare?

Three to five direct competitors is usually enough. Duplicate a column to add more.

Can I export it for a report?

Yes — PNG for documents, SVG for print-quality, or .json to keep editing.

Is it free?

Yes, free with no sign-up.
