The basics
What is an ER diagram?
An entity-relationship (ER) diagram shows the tables in a database, their columns and keys, and how tables relate — one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many.
Drawing the schema first catches design mistakes before they're in production, and gives the whole team a shared picture of the data.
Features
What makes it work
SQL in, SQL out
Import CREATE TABLE statements or DBML; generate SQL for PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and SQLite.
Crow's-foot relationships
Cardinality drawn properly, with lines that keep to their own lanes.
Code for your app
Generate Prisma, TypeScript types, Mermaid and Markdown docs from the diagram.
- Real templatesStart from a worked example and make it yours.
- Smart connectorsDrag a + handle to connect; Tab adds the next step.
- PNG, SVG & file exportFor docs and slides — or a .json to keep editing.
- Share linksSend a link; whoever opens it gets their own copy.
- Private by defaultSaved in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
- Works on touchPan, pinch and edit on a tablet or phone.
Templates
Start from a worked example
Open one, change the words and it's yours — every element stays editable.
How it works
Three steps to done
- Step 1
Start from a schema template, paste SQL, or begin blank.
- Step 2
Add tables, columns and keys; drag between columns to relate them.
- Step 3
Export an image, or generate SQL and code.
Use cases
Who it's for
New apps
Design the schema before writing migrations.
Documentation
Turn an existing database into a readable diagram.
Coursework
Database design assignments with proper notation.
Can I import an existing database?
Yes — paste CREATE TABLE statements (or DBML) and the diagram is drawn for you.
Which databases can it generate SQL for?
PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and SQLite.
Does it connect to my database?
No. It works from SQL you paste, entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no sign-up.
