The basics

What is good brainstorming?

Good brainstorming has two phases: going wide (as many ideas as possible, no judging) and then converging (grouping, spotting themes, picking what to try).

A board with sticky notes supports both — scatter ideas fast, then drag them into clusters and name the themes.

What you can add

  • Sticky note
  • Pink note
  • Blue note
  • Green note
  • Question
  • Cluster

Features

What makes it work

  • Fast sticky notes

Double-click the canvas for a new note; Tab to add the next one beside it.

  • Clusters and themes

Group notes into frames and colour-code them as patterns appear.

  • Proven formats

Idea wall around a “How might we…?”, affinity diagram and Crazy 8s.

Templates

Start from a worked example

Open one, change the words and it's yours — every element stays editable.

How it works

Three steps to done

Start brainstorming
  1. Step 1

Write the question at the centre — or pick a template.

  2. Step 2

Add as many notes as you can, without judging them yet.

  3. Step 3

Drag them into clusters, name the themes and choose what to try.

Use cases

Who it's for

  • Product ideas

Explore solutions to a customer problem before committing.

  • Research synthesis

Sort interview notes into themes with an affinity diagram.

  • Workshops and classes

A shared idea wall for any group session.

Brainstorming

Common questions

What is an affinity diagram?

A way to sort many ideas or observations into groups by similarity, then name each group. The template has example themes to get you started.

What is Crazy 8s?

A fast exercise: eight ideas in eight minutes, one per frame — quantity over polish.

Can a group brainstorm on the same board?

Not live — there's no co-editing. For a group, one person can facilitate on a shared screen, or share a link for everyone to build on their own copy.

Is it free?

Yes, free with no sign-up.
