How to use the Resume Bullet Improver
- Paste one bullet, several, or a whole experience section — one bullet per line.
- Optionally add the job title, industry and the target job description.
- For each bullet, review the issues and the suggested rewrite. Open “Make it stronger” to add facts you can verify — the problem it solved, your part, the outcome, a number, the tools.
- Edit, accept or keep each original, then copy the final set or send accepted bullets straight into your CV in the Resume Builder.
What does this tool do?
Most weak bullets describe a duty (“Responsible for…”, “Worked on…”) instead of what you did and what changed. This tool rewrites them around a clear action, how you did it and the result — in seven styles, from concise and ATS-friendly to leadership, business impact and entry-level.
It won't manufacture achievements. It never adds a percentage, money, users or tools you didn't provide, and it never upgrades “helped” into “led” unless you say you led the work. If a bullet has no result, it asks — and if you can't measure it, it writes a strong factual bullet without a number.
Every rewrite comes with what changed and why. With a job description, it shows which requirements each bullet supports, suggests the advert's wording where it means the same thing, and asks about relevant technologies rather than adding them.
The analysis is rule-based and runs in your browser: it follows published, explainable checks rather than an AI model, so the same input always gives the same result and every finding says why.
Why use it?
- Seven styles with different emphasis.
- Discovery questions instead of invented metrics.
- Before-and-after explanation for every change.
- Flags vague verbs, repeats, passive voice, length and duplicates.
- Batch editing with accept/reject per bullet.
- Sends accepted bullets to your CV — only after you confirm, with undo.
Example
“Worked on improving page load times” becomes “Contributed to improving page load times” — honest about scope until you add more. Tell it you did the work yourself, that you used Next.js and Redis, and that pages now load in under 2 seconds (40% faster), and it becomes “Improved page load times using Next.js and Redis, so pages load in under 2 seconds (40% faster)”.
Accuracy and limits
- Rewrites are rule-based and keep your facts; read each one and adjust the wording to sound like you.
- Numbers in your original bullets are kept as written — make sure you can back them up in an interview.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need numbers in every bullet?
No. Results make bullets stronger, but an honest outcome (“adopted by all three regional teams”) beats an estimated number. The tool never adds a number you didn't give it.
What's the best format for a resume bullet?
Action + what + how + result: start with a strong verb, say what you did and with what, then what changed. Keep it under about 30 words.
Will it change my resume without asking?
Never. Your originals stay until you accept a rewrite, and sending to the Resume Builder asks you to choose the job and confirm — with an undo straight after.
Why do some styles look the same?
Without extra facts, styles can only rephrase. Answer one or two questions (outcome, tools, your part) and the styles diverge — achievement-led, technical, business impact and so on.
