The basics

What is an org chart?

An organizational chart shows who reports to whom. It helps new joiners find their way, makes team structure visible during growth or a reorg, and answers “who owns this?” at a glance.

Each person is a card with initials, name and role. Lines connect managers to their reports, and frames group a team together.

What you can add

  • Person
  • Open role
  • Team
  • Sticky note

How it works

Three steps to done

Create an org chart
  1. Step 1

Start from the company, startup or school template — or a blank chart.

  2. Step 2

Double-click a card to type “Name” then the role on the next line.

  3. Step 3

Press Tab to add reports, then export or share.

Use cases

Who it's for

  • Company structure

Leadership, departments and teams for onboarding packs and the intranet.

  • Hiring plans

Show today's team and the roles you're about to hire.

Common questions

How do I add someone who reports to a manager?

Select the manager and press Tab (or click the + below the card). A new card appears underneath, connected by a reporting line.

Can I show vacancies?

Yes — use the “Open role” card from the palette, or change any card's colour.

Can I import from a spreadsheet?

Not yet. You can build a chart quickly with Tab, or start from a template and change the names.

Is my org chart private?

Yes. It's saved only in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a link or file.
