How to use the Resume & CV Builder

  1. In Setup, choose where you're applying, your type of job and a template. Sections, paper size, photo and personal details adapt to that country automatically.
  2. Click any part of the CV to edit it, drag sections to reorder them (even between columns) and add sections such as projects, certifications, languages or references. Import an existing CV from PDF, Word or text if you have one.
  3. Fine-tune fonts, colours, spacing and layout under Design, fix anything flagged in Check, then press “Download PDF” and choose “Save as PDF”.

What does this tool do?

CV conventions differ by country. A US resume should be one page on Letter paper with no photo or personal details; a UAE or Saudi CV usually has a professional photo plus nationality, visa status and notice period; European CVs rate languages with CEFR levels; Australian resumes list referees. The builder knows these rules and restructures your CV when you change country — without touching what you've written.

Twelve templates cover everything from the single-column Harvard format that applicant tracking systems (ATS) read most reliably, to two-column designs with photos for the Gulf and creative roles. Pages break automatically between bullets, never leaving a heading stranded, and the PDF keeps real, selectable text. Your CV autosaves in this browser only — nothing is uploaded.

Why use it?

  • Country-specific formats for 8 regions.
  • 12 ATS-rated templates.
  • Drag-and-drop, live multi-page preview.
  • Built-in CV checker and score.
  • Private — no sign-up, nothing uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Resume or CV — which should I make?

In the US and Canada use a one- or two-page resume. In the UK, Europe, the Gulf and most other countries a two-page CV is standard; academic CVs can be longer. Choose your country in Setup and the builder uses the right name, paper size and length guidance.

Should I include a photo?

Not in the US, UK, Canada or Australia, where photos can lead to bias. In the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf, and in much of Europe, a professional headshot is common or expected. The builder tells you which applies and the checker warns if you get it wrong.

Are the templates ATS-friendly?

Every template exports real text, not an image. Single-column templates (Harvard, Classic, Executive, Minimal, Compact) score highest for ATS parsing; two-column designs are rated lower but are popular for direct applications and recruiters. Each template shows its ATS rating.

Can I import my existing CV?

Yes — import a PDF or Word (.docx) file or paste the text. The builder finds your contact details and splits experience, education, skills and more into editable sections. Always review the result; unusual layouts may need tidying.

How do I fit it on fewer pages?

Use “Fit to fewer pages” in the toolbar to tighten spacing, font size and margins within readable limits, or “Balance columns” when a sidebar runs long. Keeping 3–5 bullets for recent jobs and fewer for older ones helps most.
