What you can do

Everything a flowchart needs, nothing it doesn't

Create, edit, style and share — the Flowchart Maker covers the whole job in one place.

01Create

Start from a template, a blank page or plain text

Pick one of the ready-made flows, drag shapes onto an empty canvas, or type steps like “Start -> Check stock? -> yes: Ship” and get an editable chart.

  • Ready-made templates for common processes
  • Drop a line on empty space to add the next step
  • “From text” builds the chart for you

From text

Start -> Fill in form -> Valid? -> yes: Save details -> Done
Valid? -> no: Show error -> Fill in form
yesnoStartFill in formValid?Save detailsDoneShow error

02Edit

Connectors that keep up as you move things

Lines pick the best sides and steer around other shapes, so the chart stays readable while you rearrange it. Tidy up lays everything out in neat layers.

  • Smart, self-routing connectors
  • Snap to grid and alignment guides
  • Multi-select, copy, paste and full undo

03Customise

Every standard symbol, styled your way

Thirteen flowchart symbols, each with its own soft colour so a chart reads at a glance. Change any shape's type, fill, border and text.

  • Terminal, process, decision, input/output and more
  • Fill, border, dash and text styles
  • Labels on any connector

04Share

Export it anywhere, keep it for later

Download a PNG for documents and slides, an SVG that stays sharp at any size, or a PDF to print. Save a .json file to carry on editing on another computer.

Common questions

More help on the Flowchart Maker page.

What is a flowchart?

A flowchart is a diagram of a process: each step is a shape, and arrows show the order. Standard symbols tell you what kind of step it is — an oval for start or end, a rectangle for an action, a diamond for a yes/no decision.

What do the flowchart symbols mean?

Start/End (oval) marks where the process begins and finishes. Process (rectangle) is an action. Decision (diamond) is a question with branches. Input/Output (parallelogram) is data in or out, like a form or a report. Document, database, subprocess, manual input, preparation and delay cover the rest.

How do I make a flowchart online?

Open the Flowchart Maker, start from a template or a blank canvas, add shapes from the panel and drag from a shape's blue dot to connect it. Double-click to type, then export a PNG, SVG or PDF.

Is this flowchart software free?

Yes — free with no sign-up and no watermark. It runs in your browser and saves your chart on your device.

Flowchart or data flow diagram — which do I need?

A flowchart shows the steps and decisions of a process. A data flow diagram shows how data moves between people, processes and stores, without the order of steps. For data, use the Data Flow Diagram Maker.

Can I work on a flowchart with my team?

There's no live co-editing. Share a PNG, SVG or PDF, or send the .json project file — anyone can open it in the Flowchart Maker and carry on.
