How to resize Signature for Online Forms

  1. Sign in black or dark-blue ink on plain white paper and take a photo in good light — or scan it.
  2. Crop tightly around the signature (the Image Cropper helps), ideally to the dimensions the form gives, such as 140 × 60 px.
  3. Add the cropped image here — the target is preset to 20 KB — and download the compressed JPEG. If the form wants 10 KB or less, type 10 in the size box.

What does this tool do?

Recruitment and exam portals commonly ask for a signature between 10 and 20 KB, often with fixed dimensions, and reject anything outside those limits. A tightly cropped signature on white compresses extremely well, so it's easy to get far under the limit while staying perfectly legible.

The most common reasons for rejection are an uncropped photo of a whole page, a grey or shadowy background, and the wrong file type. Crop close, use bright light, and keep the output as JPEG. Your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Why use it?

  • Preset for 10–20 KB signatures.
  • Keeps the ink crisp and legible.
  • Works on phone photos and scans.
  • Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What size should a signature be for an online form?

Follow your form's notification. A very common specification is 10–20 KB as a JPEG, around 140 × 60 pixels (or 3.5 × 1.5 cm). If no size is given, a cropped 300 × 100 px JPEG under 20 KB is safe.

How do I make the background white?

Photograph the signature in bright, even light without shadows. Before compressing, the Photo Adjustments tool can raise brightness and contrast until the paper turns white.

My signature file is under 5 KB — is that a problem?

Some forms set a minimum (often 10 KB). If yours is too small, crop slightly larger or increase the target size so the compressor keeps more detail.
