How to compress Image to 30 KB

  1. Add your photo — the target is preset to 30 KB.
  2. The compressor finds the best quality that fits, scaling down only if the photo is very large.
  3. Download the JPEG. If the form also gives exact dimensions, crop and resize to those first.

What does this tool do?

Many application portals set limits like “20–30 KB” or “under 30 KB” for the candidate photo. That's enough room for a head-and-shoulders portrait around 250 × 320 pixels at good quality — sharp enough for an admit card or ID.

Aim a little under the limit (27–29 KB) because some portals count a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes rather than 1,024. Your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Why use it?

  • Preset to 30 KB.
  • Sharp portraits at form sizes.
  • Batch and ZIP download.
  • Private — runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

The form says 20–30 KB. Will this be too small?

Results usually land between 24 and 29 KB. If a file comes out under 20 KB, use a larger original or set a slightly higher target such as 28.

How do I keep the face sharp at 30 KB?

Crop to head and shoulders, use a plain background and resize to the form's dimensions before compressing. That leaves more of the 30 KB for detail where it matters.

Can I use the same photo for the signature box?

No — forms usually want a separate signature image, often with a smaller limit such as 10–20 KB. Sign in black ink on white paper, photograph it, crop tightly and compress it on the 10 KB or 20 KB page.

Does this change my photo's dimensions?

Only if it has to. A photo that already matches the form's pixel size is compressed at the same dimensions; a very large phone photo may be scaled down so it can fit 30 KB at good quality.
