How to compress Image to 10 KB
- Crop tightly to what matters (a face, a signature, a logo) — every pixel you remove helps.
- Add the image here; the target is preset to 10 KB. The compressor lowers quality and, if needed, scales the image down until it fits.
- Download the JPEG and check it at 100% zoom. If it looks too soft, crop tighter and try again.
What does this tool do?
A 10 KB limit usually comes with small dimensions — think 150 × 200 px for a photo or 140 × 60 px for a signature. At those sizes a JPEG can look perfectly clear; the problems start when a full-size photo is squeezed down without cropping, because the compressor has to throw away almost everything.
Signatures on white paper are the easiest case and often land at 4–8 KB. Faces need more care: crop to head and shoulders, keep the background plain, and avoid busy patterns that eat up file size. Your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Why use it?
- Preset to 10 KB.
- Scales down only as much as needed.
- Works for photos, signatures and logos.
- Nothing is uploaded.
What fits in 10 KB
Typical JPEG results:
| Image | Pixel size | Typical size |
|---|---|---|
| Signature on white | 300 × 100 px | 3–7 KB |
| Face, plain background | 150 × 200 px | 6–10 KB |
| Face, busy background | 150 × 200 px | 10–16 KB |
| Full phone photo | 4000 × 3000 px | Must be scaled right down |

Frequently asked questions
Can a photo really be under 10 KB?
Yes, at small dimensions. A 150 × 200 px head-and-shoulders photo on a plain background usually fits at decent quality. Large photos have to be scaled down to get there.
My file is 11 KB — how do I get the last bit off?
Crop a little tighter or reduce the pixel size slightly with the Image Resizer, then compress again. A plainer background also helps a lot.
Should I use PNG for a tiny signature?
Use JPEG unless the form insists on PNG. A black-and-white signature as JPEG is usually smaller than the same image as PNG at these sizes.
