How to use the Receipt Generator
- Fill in your business details and the customer details on the left. The preview updates as you type.
- Add each item with a quantity and unit price. Totals, tax and discount are calculated for you.
- Optionally add your logo and notes such as payment terms.
- Click Download PDF, or Print and choose “Save as PDF”.
What does this tool do?
A receipt confirms that a payment has been received. It's useful for cash sales, freelance work paid upfront, rent payments, deposits and private sales where no till receipt exists.
The receipt shows the date paid, payment method, items and the amount paid, with a PAID mark so it can't be mistaken for an unpaid invoice.

Invoice or receipt?
An invoice is a request for payment, sent before the customer pays. A receipt is proof of payment, given after. If a client has already paid an invoice, you can send a receipt referencing the invoice number.

Everything you type is processed in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers or stored by us. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
Frequently asked questions
Are my client details saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser. If you tick “Remember my business details”, only your own business details are saved on this device so you don't have to retype them.
Is a self-made receipt valid?
For most everyday purposes, yes, as long as it's accurate and includes who paid, who received the money, the amount, the date and what it was for. Some expense systems or tax rules require extra details.
