Any file type · zipped on your device, never uploaded

Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory.

How to use the Create ZIP File

  1. Choose the files to include.
  2. Name the archive and choose a compression level.
  3. Click Create ZIP and save it.

What does this tool do?

Files that are already compressed (photos, videos, PDFs, Office files) are stored as-is, because compressing them again only wastes time. Text, code and data files are compressed with Deflate, the standard ZIP method every operating system can open.

Why use it?

  • Email many files as one attachment.
  • Upload a set of files where only one is allowed.
  • Keep related files together.

How much smaller?

Text, CSV and code files often shrink by 60–90%. Photos and videos barely shrink because they're already compressed.

Accuracy and limits

  • Browsers can handle archives up to about 1 GB comfortably. For larger backups, use desktop software.

Privacy

Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory. There's no account to create and nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are read and processed in your browser, and results are saved straight back to your device.

Can I add a password?

Not yet. Standard ZIP passwords are weak anyway; for sensitive files, use an encrypted archive tool or a secure file-sharing service.
