Uses AES-256-GCM with a key derived from your password (PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600,000 iterations). Keep the password safe — there’s no way to recover it.

How to use the File Encryption & Decryption

  1. Choose encrypt or decrypt.
  2. Pick the file and enter a strong password.
  3. Download the encrypted .m2enc file — or the decrypted original.

What does this tool do?

The file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your password with PBKDF2-SHA-256 and a random salt. The result is a .m2enc file that can only be opened with this tool and the password.

All processing happens on your device, so even large private documents never touch a server.

Why use it?
