UTM Link Builder

Add UTM tags to your links so analytics shows exactly which campaigns bring visitors.

  • Free
  • No sign-up
  • Runs in your browser

Where the traffic comes from: google, newsletter, facebook

The type of channel: email, cpc, social, banner

Your campaign or promotion: spring_sale

Paid search keywords

To tell apart ads or links: blue_button

Analytics treats “Email” and “email” as different sources, so keeping everything lowercase avoids split reports. Don't use UTM tags on links between pages of your own site.

Everything you type is processed in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers or stored by us.

How to use the UTM Link Builder

  1. Enter the page URL.
  2. Fill in source, medium and campaign.
  3. Optionally add term and content.
  4. Copy the tracking link.

What does this tool do?

UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign…) tell analytics tools where a visit came from. Google Analytics 4 uses them to fill its traffic acquisition reports.

Why use it?

  • Measure newsletters, ads and social posts.
  • Consistent naming avoids split reports.
  • Works with any analytics tool.

Example

Newsletter link: ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring_sale. In analytics this appears as newsletter / email under the spring_sale campaign.

Privacy

Everything you type is processed in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers or stored by us. There's no account to create and nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

Should I tag internal links?

No. UTM tags on links between your own pages start a new session and overwrite the real source, which corrupts your data.
