How to uK CV Builder
- The builder opens in the UK format: A4, no photo, a Personal Statement and Employment History, with references “available on request”.
- Replace the example content with your own. The career popup tailors sections, examples and skills to your role and level.
- Pick a template — Classic and Harvard are safe choices — and download the PDF.
What does this tool do?
UK CVs are usually two A4 pages and start with a short personal statement tailored to the role. Under the Equality Act 2010, employers avoid information that could lead to bias, so leave out your photo, date of birth, marital status and nationality. References can simply be “available on request”.
Use UK spelling, reverse-chronological order and achievement-led bullet points with numbers. Most larger UK employers and agencies use applicant tracking systems, so single-column templates are the safest. Your CV is saved in this browser only — nothing is uploaded, and there's no sign-up or watermark.
Why use it?
- Opens in the UK format.
- Personal statement guidance and examples.
- ATS-friendly templates.
- Free, private, no watermark.

Frequently asked questions
Should a UK CV have a photo?
No — UK employers generally screen out photos to avoid bias, except for acting and modelling roles. The builder hides the photo for the UK by default.
What is a personal statement on a CV?
A 3–5 line summary at the top of a UK CV: who you are, your key strengths and what you're looking for. The builder shows examples written for your role.
How long should a UK CV be?
Two A4 pages for most people, one for school leavers and graduates. Academic CVs can be longer.
