How to european CV Builder (Europass-style)

  1. The builder opens in the European format: A4, optional photo, CEFR language levels and Personal Details such as nationality and driving licence.
  2. Replace the example content; rate each language from A1 to C2. The career popup tailors sections to your field.
  3. Choose the Euro (Europass-inspired) template or any other, and download the PDF.

What does this tool do?

European CVs are usually one to two A4 pages. Photos are common and often expected in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain, less so in the Netherlands and the Nordics. Personal details like nationality and date of birth are optional but common in German-speaking countries.

Rate languages with the Common European Framework (CEFR) levels A1–C2 — employers expect it. The Europass format is widely recognised for EU applications, academic posts and EU institutions; the Euro template follows its label-and-content layout. Your CV is saved in this browser only — nothing is uploaded, and there's no sign-up or watermark.

Why use it?

  • Opens in the EU format.
  • CEFR language levels.
  • Europass-inspired template.
  • Free, private, A4 PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Europass CV?

No — it's a Europass-inspired layout you can download as a PDF without an account. The official Europass editor is run by the European Commission; use it where an application specifically requires the official format.

Should I add a photo to a European CV?

In Germany, Austria, Switzerland and southern Europe a professional photo is common. In the Netherlands, Nordics and international companies it's optional — leave it off if unsure.

What are CEFR levels?

A1–A2 basic, B1–B2 independent, C1–C2 proficient. Most professional roles ask for B2 or above in the working language.
