  2. Upload it — the 3.5 × 4.5 cm preset is selected. Zoom and drag until your head fills the area between the guides.

What does this tool do?

3.5 × 4.5 cm (35 × 45 mm) is the most widely used passport-size photo format in the world — the size of UK, Schengen, Australian and many other passports, and the default “passport size photo” for applications, school and college admissions, ID cards and exam forms in South Asia, the Middle East and Europe. At 300 DPI it's 413 × 531 pixels, a 7:9 ratio.

Your face should take up about 70–80% of the photo height, with a little space above the head. If a form also sets a file-size limit, run the downloaded photo through Reduce Image Size (for example to 50 KB). Your photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
