How to use the Duplicate Image Finder
- Drop a batch of photos.
- Adjust the similarity tolerance — strict finds near-identical copies, loose finds similar shots.
- Review each group of look-alikes and delete the copies you don't need.
What does this tool do?
Unlike a byte-for-byte duplicate finder, this tool compares what pictures look like. Each image is shrunk to a tiny grayscale thumbnail and turned into a 64-bit fingerprint (a difference hash); images whose fingerprints differ by only a few bits look almost the same.
That catches WhatsApp-compressed copies, screenshots of the same photo and burst shots. Your images are processed on your own device and never uploaded.
Why use it?
- Finds resized and re-saved copies.
- Adjustable tolerance.
- Thumbnails for quick review.
Accuracy and limits
- Very similar but different shots — such as a burst series — can group together at loose tolerances. Always review before deleting.
Privacy
Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
