How to use the Image Color Picker
- Choose an image or screenshot.
- Move over the image and click to pick a color.
- Copy the HEX, RGB or HSL code.
- Use the extracted palette for designs.
What does this tool do?
The palette is found by grouping similar pixels (median-cut quantization) and ranking the groups by how much of the image they cover.
Picking happens on a copy of the image drawn in your browser, so you get the exact color value of the pixel you click — useful for matching a logo color or checking what shade a designer actually used.
Why use it?
- Match brand colors from a logo.
- Build a palette from a photo you love.
- Identify colors in screenshots.
Tip
Zoom in on small areas by cropping first — anti-aliased edges contain blended colors.
Privacy
Your files are processed entirely in your browser using built-in web technologies. They are not uploaded to our servers, and closing the page clears them from memory. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device, which is why it works even on a slow connection.
