How to use the Density Calculator
- Pick what to solve for.
- Enter the other two values in kg and m³.
- Read the result in kg/m³ and g/cm³.
What does this tool do?
Density is mass per unit volume. Aluminium is about 2,700 kg/m³, water 1,000 kg/m³ and oak roughly 750 kg/m³ — which is why oak floats and aluminium sinks.
1 g/cm³ equals 1,000 kg/m³, and 1 litre is 0.001 m³.
Why use it?
- Solve for any variable.
- Two common units.
- Float-or-sink check.
The formula
ρ = m ÷ V
