How to use the CGPA to Percentage Converter
- Choose the direction of conversion.
- Enter your CGPA or percentage and the scale.
- Pick the formula your university uses, and compare the alternatives.
What does this tool do?
There's no single universal formula. CBSE and many Indian universities multiply a 10-point CGPA by 9.5. Others use a simple proportion (CGPA ÷ scale × 100), and some technical universities use (CGPA − 0.75) × 10.
The calculator shows all common results side by side so you can see the difference — and check your transcript or handbook for the official one.
Why use it?
- Fill in job and admission forms that ask for a percentage.
- Compare formulas instantly.
- Reverse conversion included.
Example: CGPA 8.2 on a 10-point scale
With × 9.5: 77.9%. With simple proportion: 82%. With (CGPA − 0.75) × 10: 74.5%. The same CGPA gives quite different percentages, so always use your university's rule.

Accuracy and limits
- Formulas change over time and differ between universities. Your institution's official conversion always takes precedence.
