User Agent Parser

Find out what a user agent string says about a browser and device.

  • Free
  • No sign-up
  • Nothing is sent or stored

Showing your own browser's user agent. Paste any other to parse it.

User agents can be faked and are being reduced by browsers. For feature detection, test for the feature itself rather than the browser name.

The calculation happens instantly in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or saved.

How to use the User Agent Parser

  1. Your own user agent is shown automatically.
  2. Paste any other user agent to parse it.
  3. Read the browser, engine, OS and device type.

What does this tool do?

Browsers identify themselves with a user agent string sent on every request. It names the browser, rendering engine and operating system — though for historical reasons nearly every browser claims to be “Mozilla”.

The parser recognises Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Samsung Internet and common bots, and detects mobile, tablet and desktop devices.

Why use it?

  • Your own UA instantly.
  • Bot detection.
  • Device type.

Accuracy and limits

  • User agents can be spoofed and are increasingly frozen by browsers, so treat results as hints.

Privacy

The calculation happens instantly in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or saved. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
