How to use the Text Similarity Checker
- Paste text A and text B.
- Read the similarity scores.
- Check highlighted shared words and phrases.
What does this tool do?
Cosine similarity compares word frequencies and is good at catching reworded copies; the Jaccard index measures shared vocabulary; edit distance compares character by character. Shared three-word phrases point to copied passages. Scores measure wording, not meaning.
Everything runs in your browser — nothing you paste is uploaded.
Why use it?
- Three measures.
- Highlights shared words.
- Lists shared phrases.
Accuracy and limits
- This compares only the two texts you provide — it doesn't search the web, so it isn't a full plagiarism checker.
