How to use the Random Team Generator
- Enter the names, one per line.
- Choose the number of teams or people per team.
- Press Make teams, and copy the result.
What does this tool do?
Names are shuffled securely and then dealt into teams one by one, so team sizes never differ by more than one person.
Random teams feel fair to everyone and save time in classrooms, sports sessions and workshops. You can split by the number of teams you need, or by how many people each team should have.
Why use it?
- Classroom groups.
- Sports and games.
- Workshop breakout rooms.
Example
10 names into 3 teams gives teams of 4, 3 and 3.

Frequently asked questions
Is it truly random?
