How to use the Retirement Calculator
- Enter your age, retirement age and how long to plan for.
- Add your current savings, monthly contributions and expected return.
- Set the yearly income you want (in today's money) and read the result.
What does this tool do?
The calculator grows your savings month by month at your expected return, then works out the pot you'd need to pay your target income — rising with inflation — every year until your planning age.
If there's a shortfall it shows the extra monthly saving that would close it. All results are also shown in today's money, so you can compare them with prices now.
Why use it?
- Inflation-adjusted.
- Shows the gap and how to close it.
- Year-by-year growth table.
Accuracy and limits
- For planning and education — not financial, tax or legal advice.
- Investment returns vary and aren't guaranteed. State pensions, taxes and fees can change the picture significantly.
Privacy
The calculation happens instantly in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers or saved. There's no account to create and nothing to install.
