How to use the Number to Words Converter
- Type the number.
- Choose plain words or cheque format.
- Choose US or UK style (UK adds “and” after hundreds).
- Copy the result.
What does this tool do?
Writing amounts in words prevents mistakes and tampering on cheques, contracts and legal documents. Cheque format writes the whole amount in words and the cents as words too (“and fifty cents”), ending with “only” when there are no cents.
UK English uses “and” after hundreds (one hundred and twenty); US English usually leaves it out. Both use the short scale, where a billion is 1,000,000,000.
Why use it?
- Write cheques and contracts correctly.
- US and UK styles.
- Handles numbers up to the quadrillions.
