How to use the Audio Spectrogram

  1. Choose an audio file.
  2. Adjust detail, colours, frequency range and scale.
  3. Download the spectrogram as an image.

What does this tool do?

Spectrograms show hum (a line at 50 or 60 Hz), hiss, bird calls, the harmonics of a voice — and whether a “lossless” file was made from an MP3, which shows up as a hard cut-off around 16–19 kHz.

Bigger FFT sizes resolve pitch more finely; smaller sizes show quick events more sharply. Audio is processed on your own device and never uploaded.

Why use it?

  • Log or linear frequency.
  • Adjustable resolution.
  • PNG export.
