How to use the Restaurant Menu Maker
- Open the editor and choose a paper size: A4, A5 or US Letter. A custom size can be entered later from Resize.
- Pick one of 10 templates for restaurants, cafés, bakeries, fast food or bars. Each one comes with a front cover, a menu page and a back page.
- Click any dish, price or description to edit it. Use Add category and Add dish in the Menu tab to grow the page, and Add page for more.
- Add your logo and upload food photos into the empty frames. Change the colours and fonts from the Brand tab and every page follows.
- Add a QR code for your online menu, booking page or website from the QR & icons tab, and check the checks list for text that does not fit.
- Download the PDF at 300 dpi for the print shop, or each page as PNG or JPG for screens and social media.
What does this tool do?
A good menu is easy to scan. People look for the section they want, find a dish, and check the price — so the best layouts keep categories clearly labelled, dishes in a tidy column and prices lined up on the right. The templates here follow that pattern, in looks that range from a formal black-and-copper restaurant menu to a bright fast-food board.
Every menu is a set of pages you can reorder, duplicate and delete: a front cover with your name, one or more menu pages, and a back page with opening hours, contact details and a QR code. Add category adds a heading with three dishes in the emptiest column, and Add dish adds a new row under the dish you have selected. Everything is ordinary text, so you can also move, resize or restyle it freely.
Colours and fonts are stored as a palette. Change the brand colour once and every page restyles, which keeps a long menu consistent. You can add your logo as a picture, upload food photos into frames, change the page background and use shapes or icons from the Insert and QR & icons tabs.
Pages are drawn at 150 pixels per inch, so A4 is 1240 × 1754 px and the Print option makes a true 300 dpi file. The PDF is made at the real paper size, with one page for each menu page, ready to send to a printer.
QR codes are made on your device from the address you type. They hold the address itself, so they do not expire and do not track scans. Everything runs in your browser: your menu, logo and photos are never uploaded, and there is no account, watermark or export limit.
How to get a menu printed well
Download the PDF at the Print (300 dpi) setting and send it to the printer. Ask whether they need bleed — extra background beyond the trim line. This editor's download is cut exactly at the page edge with no bleed or crop marks, so keep text inside the margin and prefer designs with a border or plain background.
Choose the paper for the way the menu will be used. Menus that are handled often are better on thick or laminated card. Before a big print run, print one copy at home, scan the QR code with a phone and read every price twice.

Which size and template should I start with?
Choose the paper size first, then the template. You can change the size later, but the layout is scaled rather than redesigned, so check each page afterwards.
| Venue | Template to try | Good size |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurant | Black & copper, Warm bistro | A4 for tables and walls, A5 for small tables |
| Cafe | Café minimal, Botanical café | A4, or A5 on a clipboard |
| Bakery | Rose bakery, Wheat & flour | A4 for the counter, A5 for takeaway |
| Fast food | Burger bold, Street food | A4 for counter boards, A5 for takeaway leaflets |
| Bar | Neon cocktails, Speakeasy gold | A5 for table menus, A4 for the wall |
Common mistakes
- Too many dishes on a page. A clear, uncrowded page sells better than a full one — add a page instead.
- Prices that are hard to find. Keep them on the right in the same style, and do not mix formats such as 9, 9.0 and 9.00.
- Small text. Body text under about 22 px on an A4 page is hard to read in dim light; Checks flags it.
- A low-resolution logo or photo. Use pictures at least 1500 pixels wide for a 300 dpi A4 print.
- A QR code that is too small or low-contrast. Print it at least 2 cm wide, dark on light, and test it.
- Forgetting allergy and dietary information. Check your local rules and add them where they are required.
Accuracy and limits
- The templates contain no photographs, logos or real businesses. Every picture frame is empty until you add your own, and a download shows an empty frame as a grey box, so fill or delete each one first.
- Dish names, descriptions and prices in the templates are samples only. Replace all of them before you print, and check allergy and legal information for your own country.
- The download is cut exactly at the page edge and has no bleed or crop marks. Ask your printer if they need bleed.
- Colours are RGB. Printed colours depend on the printer and paper and may look a little different from the screen.
- The PDF contains a high-quality image of each page, so its text cannot be selected or searched.
- Templates are designed for A4 and are scaled for A5, Letter and custom sizes, so check each page after changing size. Menus with many dishes can be tight on small sizes.
- Menus and photos are stored in this browser only. Clearing site data or using a private window can remove them, so save a project file for anything important.

Frequently asked questions
Is this menu maker free?
Yes. Every template, the editor and every download are free, with no account and no watermark.
What kinds of menu can I make?
There are templates for restaurants, cafés, bakeries, fast food and bars, and you can start from a blank page for anything else, such as a drinks list or a catering menu.
Can I make a multi-page menu?
Yes. Every template has a front cover, a menu page and a back page. Add, duplicate, delete and reorder pages in the strip below the canvas, and download them all in one PDF.
How do I add categories, dishes and prices?
Open the Menu tab and choose Add category to add a heading with three dishes, or select a dish and choose Add dish to add a new row under it. Click any text to edit it.
What sizes can I print?
A4, A5 and US Letter are built in, and Resize accepts any custom width and height. The editor shows the printed size in millimetres and inches.
Can I add my logo and food photos?
Yes. Use Add logo in the Menu tab, and upload pictures into the empty frames or from Insert. They stay on your device.
Can I add a QR code for my online menu?
Yes. Open QR & icons, type the address of your online menu, choose colours and add it. It is made on your device and holds the address directly, so it does not expire or track scans.
Can I do a front and back menu?
Yes. The first page is the front cover and the last is the back page, which has opening hours, a QR code and contact details. You can add more pages in between or change the order.
Can I download a PDF, PNG or JPG?
Yes. Choose PDF for printing at true paper size, or PNG and JPG for screens and social media. The Print option is 300 dpi.
Are my menus uploaded anywhere?
No. Editing and exporting happen in your browser, and menus and photos are stored in this browser only.
